This book was so stinking cute! It felt like a real storyline, if that makes sense? Second chance romance, childhood best friends turned lovers, and fake engagement ALL are not in my favorite tropes. But this one was done well! It felt like the MCs had a real reason to not be friends after their childhood issues. And they had a legit reason for entering into their fake relationship. It was slow and sweet.

Their relationship evolution was so beautiful. Although it was very predictable, there were some fun, different elements that aren’t in other books with a similar trope set up. Dex was a majorly controlling MMC but it was hot! Very hot. I loved it. And the bedroom scenes?! Spicy!!

It’s a really good read for second chance romance and for childhood best friends turned lovers. It had a bit of a found family vibe with a smidgen of mafia thrown in.

A rather short review, but I feel like it wraps up everything you need to know in a neat little bow.
