Twisted Lies

Twisted #4

By Ana Huang

*Can be read as a standalone*

TheStory

Ruthless, wealthy, and jaded CEO of Harper Security, Christian Harper meets introvert and social media presence, Stella Alonso. The two enter into a “fake relationship” for his business gatherings and her social media follower count.

As per usual in these arrangements, the lines between fake and real blur and the story takes the reader on a journey through the development of Christian and Stella’s relationship.

TheReview

If you hadn’t read the first three books, Stella and Christian’s even knowing each other might have seemed a little quick off the mark. So, although you can read this as a standalone,  I would recommend reading the other books in the series first. Some of the details and tidbits in this book stem from the previous ones.

This one may have been my favorite of the series - although I loved them all. I like seeing a little vulnerability in a boss babe.

And CHRISTIAN?! Can we all just *swoon* please?? And let’s talk “morally grey.” Christian is as morally grey as you can get without being morally black. But we love him for it.

The language Huang uses throughout this book is R.E.P.E.T.I.T.I.V.E. Sometimes that pulled me out of the story cause it honestly felt like rereading an old scene. But I’m the grand scheme of the book, story, and overall series, I could look past it.

The ending (mostly the epilogue) summed up the whole series in the most beautiful way. It summed up all the relationships throughout the books and left me with a major book hangover.

Highly recommend the whole series, but this one holds a special place in my heart. I could definitely reread these books (which really means something!). 10/10. Fantastic.
