TheStory
Bull rider Rhett Eaton needs damage control for his reputation after criticizing one of his sponsors. The solution? His agent’s professional, uptight daughter - Summer Hamilton. Her sole job this summer is to supervise Rhett.
When the two are forced together, their clashing personalities are cause for an explosive reaction. As Summer attempts to babysit Rhett, their relationship is nothing but tension (well, and some banter). Navigating the learning curve of each others’ personalities, the two discover that first impressions are not always what they seem.
TheReview
Obviously, this is a classic, simple romance. We have slow-burn. We have enemies-to-lovers. We have forced proximity. It’s a trope soup up in this book. It’s the standard bad-boy with a bad reputation and the uptight, prissy city girl trying to prove her merits in her father’s business.
It’s a super cute, easy read. Rhett and Summer’s relationship flows really naturally - which can sometimes be hard to do in a short, classic romance. I was expecting more cheesy, chick-flick but it's more intimate and sweet than just that. Still a chick-flick but not as much with the cheesiness as I thought. The banter is fun and witty but there are also sweet, cutesy moments that I loved.
As expected, it’s predictable and adorable. I wasn’t planning on reading the whole set, but this one was good enough that I just might. The writing was good, as well, which has now made me an Elsie Silver fan.
