TheStory

In order to fulfill her father’s dying wish and protect the boy she loves, Yasmin agrees to marry Julian under duress and through blackmail. But her puppy love for Aidan pales in comparison to what she starts to feel for Julian, the man she’s supposed to hate.

Julian can’t deny how important she is becoming to him either - enough to throw away everything he’s ever worked for. But not all the players in the game are happy for Julian and Yasmin’s supposedly happily ever after.

Julian is a freaking MONSTER. But let’s be real, that’s why we’re here. I mean, he forced her into the marriage by threatening her lover boy and planned to murder her. But now he knows what love is… so it’s okay. 😉

I’m never rooting for a cheater and that still fully stands. Yasmin is a dirty little cheater. However, the author wrote him out of the story (for the most part) so well that I didn’t even really think about him. Doesn’t negate the cheating little liar that Yasmin is but it made it slightly more bearable for me.

The overall storyline is more or less standard for a forced/arranged marriage but it was done really well, in my opinion. I read it SO FAST, I didn’t even realize I was 3/4 of the way done until I paused to check. I was totally engrossed. It was really well written and the storyline was good - slow burn, enemies to lovers, arranged marriage. All the tropes and I’m here for it.
