This book was exactly what you would want for a follow up and ending to the first book.

The kidnapping isn’t overly drawn out. Life sucks but you just know that retribution is coming. There is such a struggle for Francesca and Fausto to come to terms with themselves, their circumstances, and their relationship. 

Poor Francesca is so hurt and upset. She just doesn’t know how she fits into this life.

Fausto is trying to do right by her but has messed up so much… he has much groveling to do.

Giulio’s storyline is so good. It served as a catalyst for the turmoil as well as the reconciliation for Fausto and Francesca. 

There was really good character growth in this book. Fausto really grew a lot. Francesca became what she was always meant to be. And the other characters’ development will serve us well in the other duets in this series. 

This was a really good, fun read. As far as mafia romances go, it was fairly tame. I had a great time reading it and I loved the storyline as well as the characters. Even the side characters were good. The writing was very well done. Would definitely recommend for a lighter mafia romance.
