I immediately enjoyed this book right from the first chapter. The storyline is classic.
Henry is giving Alpha vibes. And don’t we all love a “Teach Me” romance?!
That being said, Abbi is so self-depricating, it’s really hard to be in her head reading this. She would be considered ridiculous if it wasn’t for knowing that she has been overly protected her entire life. She's still a little annoying. She’s a sweet, innocent little angel and Henry is all kinds of domineering and contradictory.
Henry’s whole “don’t-crush-on-me” but also “do-you-like-this” thing drove me INSANE! What a walking contradiction. I wanted to slap him in the face. And then he’s all adorable and crap. Ugh. Well, I guess it’s a good book because the FMC felt the same way.
But he is honestly mean to her. The only reason he gets away with this INSANITY is because Abbi doesn’t know any better. But honestly, I kind of hope she gives him what for at some point in the series.
The book was really good. It was funny, spicy, dramatic, good story telling. It was way shorter than I was expecting since I listened to it on Audible. I screamed when it ended because I still had a whole theory for the other half of the book in my head. I guess I’ll find out if my theories are correct right after I race off to the next book.
