Now, THIS book is filled with all the action that the last book lacked. And we still have the love bits sprinkled throughout. So it was very different from the first book but still great! While Tethered was entirely a love story, Tormented is all action. The main characters are literally tormented. They just be trying to survive. 

The beginning handles Luna’s transition and Sebastian teaching her how to cope and keep herself in tact at the same time. But then the tournament is announced. Perhaps a tiny spoiler, but the end of the tournament is a fight to the death. Anyone have a guess as to whom Sebastian will have to fight in order to prove his loyalty to Queen Marguerite? I was soooo sure I had that pegged but my guess was definitely wrong. I was totally shocked at this part. 

In terms of important characters, it really is just the two MCs and the evil queen. There is no found family or anything like that. There are next to zero important side characters that get any real development. 

This book was just as good as the first one but falls into an entirely different focus. Such a good read.
