After the death of their grandfather, three brothers must each complete a task before receiving their inheritance.

Declan’s task: marry and have a baby. Rather than looking for love, Declan and his assistant, Iris, try to find someone willing to settle on an arranged marriage.

After several failed arrangements, Iris decides to do it herself. 

But neither Declan nor Iris are prepared for their contract marriage turning into real feelings. And it scares the both of them out of their comfort zone.

The beginning had me excited - definitely more than the first one. But oof, this book really fell flat for me.

The banter was really good initially and it was pretty funny but right after the wedding, I could not get into it. The “relationship development” just felt so forced.

Why are there SO MANY “wandering glances” and “lingering touches?!” I was extremely bored about 90% of the time. 

However, the redemption for this book was the ending. Their big fight was totally intense. It felt honest and organic and like the characters were finally having some chemistry. Weird for the big fight scene… but true.

So, it was pretty good at the end and the epilogues were super cute. Which is on-brand for how I felt about book 1, also. 

I initially thought I would like it better than the first one but I honestly don’t know. I can’t decide. I’m not a huge fan of either so far. Hoping book 3 will be better.
