TheStory

One night, at a bar, a woman asks a man to pretend to be with her to get rid of a creep… and the rest is history.

After asking Hollis to help her get rid of an ex, Larissa agrees to enter into a pact with him - the two will be each other’s dates to various events but it will all remain strictly platonic. Given that the two tend to keep people at a distance, it’s the perfect set up. Neither of them has to actually be in a relationship and other people won’t pester them about it.

But of course, those plans never work out. The two find their feelings growing as they open up to each other and discuss their lives.

TheReview

Do you ever just want a predictable, cute little love story? This was that. It’s a really easy, quick read. I finished it in less than a day. It wasn’t the greatest book ever, but it was just that easy and enjoyable to get through.

It’s predictable. The story follows the exact flow that you think it would. Sometimes, it’s just comforting to read a well-written, classic story. I liked that I knew exactly what would happen and there were no surprises.

Some parts of the book had me laughing out loud, so it’s pretty funny. Hollis reads exactly like a “jock” but with a “heart of gold.” He gives off a little tortured soul energy. “He’s not like other boys!”

Basically, it’s a good read if you want a simple story, decent writing, and a predictable plot and ending.
