Vinnie is a pro football star who enjoys “appreciating women” - more like all women. He never thought he would settle down. That is until his beautiful next door neighbor, Bianca, literally falls into his arms.

In an effort to get a crazy woman off his back and get Bianca’s parents off of hers, the two exchange dates for their respective events. What starts out as a favor-for-favor arrangement, quickly turns to more.

Okay, so here we have the classic fake relationship romance… but it was actually really well done! I’m not the biggest fan of these types of relationship beginnings because, let’s be real, they are generally cheesy. But I really did like this one.

The MCs little elevator meet-cute starts off the book and it was adorably cheesy (as in, just the right amount of cheesiness). And the relationship just naturally flowed from there.

Biance is feisty and strong. She doesn’t give a flying crap about Vinnie’s status or money, because she has her own. And it’s funny to watch Vinnie watch a woman be unimpressed with him. She’s very confident and knows she’s a badass but she also has her own inner insecurities. It’s a pretty dynamic character which makes for a fun read and gives more depth to her and Vinnie’s relationship.

A small side note - Bianca is a romance author. Which is hilarious because we watch a writer struggling to write a book in a book written by a writer.

As per usual in a fake relationship, the slow burn is slow burning. But the payoff is so worth it! The spicy scenes are so good. It’s not all about the spice but the spice is definitely spicing after the slow burn does the slow burning.
