TheStory

10 years after their childhood friendship ended, Hudson and Allie reconnect over Hudson’s niece and her attempt to find her birth mother.

While simultaneously working to do the right thing by Hudson’s niece and working through their issues from the past, the lies and betrayals unravel and the two of them have to decide if their relationship is worth fighting for.

TheReview

This was a classic “childhood best friends” and “second chance” romance. But it was gooooood. I’m not normally a fan of either of these tropes but I enjoyed this book so much! Granted, I listened to it, didn’t read it, which made it seem more interesting (in my opinion).

There is a little mystery to the past which I was dying to know the answers to. Which I love. And secrecy and lies surrounding the niece in the story. Which I didn’t love. But overall, it worked. The storyline was all around captivating.

I love Hudson and the way he acts around and about Allie. He’s funny and his inner monologues made me laugh. Allie is fairly serious with trust issues but I liked her for Hudson. Poor Hudson is so in love with her, it’s adorable. And poor Allie is so unsure of him (for good reason), it’s tragic.

Listened to it. Loved it. Would recommend for a classic tropey romance with a good storyline and some laughs along the way.
