Rika goes off to college, leaving behind Trevor, a man who won’t stop claiming her and telling everyone that she is his girlfriend. She ends up near Michael, a man that she has always wanted. 

But everything that seems like coincidence is actually a revenge plan by Michael and his friends to get back at Rika. After they found out that Rika is the reason behind one of them being sent to prison, they will stop at nothing to make her pay.

WHAT DID I JUST READ?!

Don’t get me wrong… it was… decent. Like not horrible.

The story jumps between the present day and what happened three years ago. Although I guessed the ending fairly early on in the book, the main storyline was actually pretty good. But my goodness, storylines seriously just be coming out of literally nowhere. Like it was a good storyline but the way things were just thrown in there seemed super random. There were parts that made no sense whatsoever.

The only good thing I can say about the way it was written is that the combining of past and present events was done well. 

But other than that… woof.

A large portion of the beginning is really slow and I felt like I was just waiting for the action. But once the action came, it hit hard. 

Rika is so annoying. She wants to be a “big kid?” Really? She is such a sheltered little girl. Also, WHAT is with the inserts about what music is playing constantly?! Throughout the whole. entire. book. That was highly irritating.

I’m curious how the other books will make the rest of the guys not seem like total douchebags. Kai is sort of okay, I guess, but Will and Damon are the literal worst. I am all for a bully romance but some of this was rough to read, especially knowing that we are supposed to like those guys as MCs later on. Michael “having feelings for her” while they are bullying her is standard for this trope but some of what they did was just so unbelievable. I just couldn’t really get into it because I didn’t really buy into what was happening.

The only reason this book is even two stars for me is because there were some parts I liked and were told really well, but the rest of it was sort of okay but sort of also not good. I’ll still continue the series because i can see its potential but Michael and Rika just seemed like a clusterf*ck, to be honest.

THE THREESOME OUT OF NOWHERE?! It’s not my thing in general but it was OUT. OF. NOWHERE. I just didn’t buy that it was a-okay with Michael and never became an issue. No. It seemed like it was thrown in for dramatic effect.
