Upbeat and positive Brooke becomes the caregiver for Ray, an ex-bull rider now a paraplegic after an accident with a bull. All Ray wants is to be left alone, so he strikes a deal with Brooke - she can stay on as his caregiver so long as she keeps to herself. Brooke needs the job, so she agrees. 

But as Brooke works her sunny charm, Ray slowly starts to open up to her. As their relationship grows, Ray’s insecurities and Brooke’s past rear their ugly heads. Can they work through their issues and get their happily ever after, or is it all too much to overcome?

It’s giving grumpy sunshine but to the extreme.

Brooke is so annoyingly bubbly for most of the book. Like… Loves Mondays and talks to animals bubbly. She calms down a bit but she was a loooooot to deal with, even as the reader. Like me, it took Ray a long time to warm up to her but ultimately, I think she balanced him out. He was soooooo bitter about life that he needed someone extremely opposite to work with him. 

Their relationship did give me all the pitter patters, though. Ray is a huge dick to Brooke in the beginning but he’s working through his demons, so it makes sense. His whole life was uprooted and all his dreams lost to him. Brooke is just a hot mess looking for her place in the world. 

Surprisingly, I ended up loving them both by the end.They’re good for each other.

The whole book is just a sweet love story about finding a new start together with someone you never expected to come into your life. It’s a twist from a lot of books where the MCs have some fo their crap together before the book even starts. It’s a fun read and a nice read for relaxing in your favorite reading spot. It’s nothing super crazy but the relationship is it’s own drama and we are here for it.
