Isabella works at the Valhalla club, which has a no employee/member fraternization rule. Valhalla is the most exclusive club and Isabella is one of the best bartenders serving there. She loves her job and has no intention of breaking the rules.

Kai is an important member of the club, and is in a competition for CEO of his family’s company. He has no desire or time for a distraction. But Isabella catches his attention and she is more than a discretion… She is a scandal that could ruin everything he has been working for.

Love these two and their whole story.

Their relationship is very organic and flows super easily with lots of witty banter. Ana Huang’s books are always full of banter. And I am here. for. it.

Now, let’s talk about Isabella.

The poor girl. Her inner voice is so mean - and it’s all things said from people that were supposed to LOVE her. Monsters. All of them. Her unbelief in herself and the pressure she puts on herself is disturbing. But she takes it all in stride and words hard to be proud of herself. It’s just hard.

Kai has so much pressure from his mom and the company that one would think he wouldn’t be willing to risk his future. But Kai seems to think he can have it all. Make it all work. He can get what he wants because he never doesn’t and still have Isabella, even though she is clearly a life-changing scandal waiting to happen.

So, when everything blows up in their faces… it is an explosion that rocks their worlds completely. But Kai is dope and we love him, so he takes it all in stride and works to do the right thing.

There are a few small mysteries throughout the book that are teeny tiny but they are definitely interesting. No spoilers, though, so let’s move along.

The ending was swoon-worthy. These two characters are so loving and into each other. It was sooooooo satisfying. It was the best ending for a phenomenal book.

P.S. I just kept thinking WHAT ABOUT HER MANUSCRIPT?! But then I got my answers and my heart melted. The end.
