Grumpy park ranger Ethan meets bubbly little mountain fairy Tilda when she moves into a house located on the border of his national park. Helpless and struggling, Tilda is suffering through an awful time in her life. Grumpy Ethan doesn’t make it any better… at least at first.

When the two of them are asked by Tilda’s late uncle to embark on a weird  journey together, their relationship blossoms. Between Tilda’s atrocious family and Ethan’s desire to protect Tilda, the two of them wind up in a situation they never saw coming.

I don’t know how to explain how much I love this book. I don’t even necessarily love a grumpy x sunshine romance, but these two were it for me. 

Ethan is grumpy (obviously), but he’s also just a rough guy that is immediately intrigued by Tilda. 

Tilda is happy-go-lucky (again, obviously), but she’s also sad, lonely, self-doubting, and traumatized from her past.

The best part is that neither of it is one sided. They are both attracted to each other. They both feel lucky to have each other. They both just can’t help themselves! And I am here for it. 

On the note of the synopsis, it IS an arranged marriage, but it’s not immediately. It’s after some development has already occurred. So it feels more natural than other fake marriages I’ve read. 

There aren’t a lot of side characters but the ones that are in it are good. Her family are really the main characters outside of the two of them. And they were perfect for the story. Terrible and hideous, but perfect antagonists. 

There isn’t much to say about the book as a whole except this. It’s an amazing story with deep characters and a fantastic storyline. I loved the whole thing. It’s really just about the two of them finding each other and bringing out the best in each other. 

P.S. This is simply not my jam but the “good boy” kink here was just not it. It was a lot. Even if it was my yum, it was a lot. But I digress… it didn’t make me like the book any less.
