Thus ensues a rollercoaster of a relationship filled with drama, lies, deceit, and manipulation.
TheReview
Without ruining the absolute drama bombs and shockers that will come your way, that’s the gist of only the very beginning. But it’s nearly impossible to tell more of the storyline without revealing spoilers. So, that’s all you get.
Now, it is completely impossible to review the book without at least teeny, tiny spoilers. Scouts honor… I won’t ruin the fun.
Dom is a giant. bright. walking red flag. Honestly, my heart broke right alongside Val’s sweet, lovable little heart. He seriously has absolutely zero boundaries or sense of any difference between right and wrong. Of course, we love him for it but in the beginning, he was so awful, I legitimately hated him. Which was a lovely rollercoaster of emotion for me.
Val was a great character. She is just out there looking for where she belongs after being so unloved by everyone she knows. She’s a hopeless romantic. So when she meets Dom, she suspects nothing. Maybe she’s a little naive, but it’s because she just wants to be accepted by someone. It’s a little odd considering her brother is one of the heads of The Alliance but still, she just wants someone to love her. So asas, her poor, kind, dumb heart jumps all in on dom immediately. Personally, I found her endearing for it.
This book really took me on a rollercoaster of emotions. Dom is a serious problem but isn’t that why we read about men like this? I simultaneously loved and hated him while loving Val. Also, I love S.J. Tilly for bringing this book into my life.
