Talk. about. enemies. to. lovers. Wooooof. Man, Pae and Kai really go at it at each other in this book. Obviously he’s hunting her and she’s running but they keep running into each other and then she gets away. And repeat.

But the tension. THE TENSION! *swoon* I love them so much. 

We also get Kitt’s POV after he becomes king. And he is so affected by his grief and title and betrayal. I actually legitimately feel bad for him. He really liked Pae and was a genuinely compassionate guy. 

But the real story here is obviously Kai and Pae.

Their new chemistry is so sad. Because everything from the last book is sullied now. And Pae is pissed. But then there are the wonderful moments and the growth of their relationship. And I just love it. 

Everything about this book slayed me. The whole book is them traveling back to Ilya but it is SO GOOD! And the ending?! THE ENDING?! I only figured it out right before it was happening. Woah. It was such a good ending. I don’t know how the next book is going to go and I’m DYING to find out.
