Ravaged Castle #2

*Can be read as a standalone*

TheStory

After a meet-cute in a fountain a year ago, Miles and Estelle find their way back to each other when they are pushed into an arranged marriage of convenience by their fathers. While not a marriage that they would have chosen, the two find themselves connecting and an attachment starts to form. However, their relationship is also fraught with lies, scars, and forces that threaten to pull them apart.

TheReview

I can barely even write this review because I am DYING to read the next one. But also, this one was great. Okay, here we go…

We got voyeurism, exhibitionism, a little bit of grumpy-sunshine vibes. I love Miles’ stoic attitude towards everything and Estelle was a pretty dynamic FMC.

While ultimately, it is a romance, it also addresses some deep stuff - image issues, childhood scars, and mental health. The book had depth and heart. It was a great read with a lot of different facets to keep you hooked and wanting to continue the read. It did have a few lulls and sometimes I didn’t find it all that interesting, but then other times, it was amazing. So, I kind of have a bit of a confusing relationship with this book, although I did really enjoy reading it.

I didn’t like it as much as the first one (but to be fair, I was obsessed with that one). But I still really enjoyed reading it and the storyline was good. One reason could be that voyeurism just isn’t really my yum, so it didn’t capture me as much as another aspect might have. But it is very sweet and hella spicy. Great read, but not the best.
