TheStory

During the murder of her mother thirteen years ago, Lyra hid in a closet. When the murderer’s son, Thatcher, found Lyra, he saved her. Now, she has an obsession with him.

Thatcher has been trained since the age of six to follow in his father’s footsteps. But he’s smarter, better, and more skilled in every way.

Unfeeling and despising physical contact in any form, Thatcher wants nothing to do with Lyra or her obsession with him. Until one day… he does.

TheReview

Duuuuuuude……….

Where do I even start with this demented horror story………

Okay, let’s go.

Lyra is absolutely, utterly, creepily obsessed with Thatcher. And not in a cute way. Full blown crazy stalker. And Thatcher is a serial killer. So there is no redemption in these two characters… They are both vile and psychotic and obsessed with their demented extracurricular activities.

So why did I enjoy reading it?!

Truly, the book is gnarly. A lot of it was rough to read. It’s a dark romance for sure (obviously). It’s super bloody, which doesn’t really bother me but the bloody sex stuff and knife play was just a smidgen too much for me. That being said… I knew what I was getting into. You can’t pick up a stalker/serial killer romance and then rate it bad based solely on the fact that you don’t like the stalking and the serial killing.

Obviously, it’s a serial killer MMC and a stalker FMC but the FMC is also obsessed with murder. Which I was not expecting. It makes for an interesting relationship though. It’s really Lyra’s stalkerness that gets me. I want a strong independent woman but that is just not this FMC. She wasn’t my vibe.

So again, why did I enjoy reading this?!

It was just a thrilling read. And it was super interesting. The book isn’t my preference for MCs but they really just prove that there is, in fact, someone for everyone. They both accepted each other for exactly who they are, no questions asked. So, if you love this style of love (or obsession), you would probably love these characters.

Additionally, it was phenomenally written. You can totally get into the stalker mind set and the serial killer mindset. Why would you want to? I don’t know. But that’s how well written this book was.
