And noooooow I know why these two got a duet in the series. This book ramped way up from Part One. While all the books in the Hollow Boys series are technically standalones (although I don’t recommend reading them that way), #3 and #4 (The Blood We Crave: Part One and The Blood We Crave: Part Two) are actually a duet, so at the very least, these two must need to be read together.

On to the good stuff…

Lyra’s growth into her own darkness and Thatcher embracing more of the light is captivating. I’m not really a fan of stalker/serial killer romances but in this book, it completely works. The two MCs are toxic and kinky in aaaaaall the wrong ways, but I love it for them. It is full blown obsession in its truest form. I still stand by not being a fan of blood and/or knife kinks, but hey, it’s just not my yum.

The descriptions in this book are so stinking phenomenal. It is so detailed and vivid. I didn’t like The Blood We Crave: Part One as much as the other ones in the series so far, but this one might be better than all of them. It had a way of making me fall in love with every word I read.

The ending… It was just so, so good. In fact, it was so good that it could have been the end of the series entirely. But of course, we can’t forget about Silas (<3) and his story coming up last. This one just had such a sense of closure about it. It sets up for the last book being an entirely separate story altogether.

I shocked my own self with how much more I loved this book than its predecessor. I enjoyed reading it so much.
