The Mindf*ck Series
By S.T. Abby
~ The Mindf*ck Series was originally 5 small books that were later combined into 1 large book ~
~ While I read the 5 separate books, this is 1 review for all 5 of them ~
TheStory
The Risk (Mindf*ck Series #1)
Lana has been making her way down her kill list, but when she meets Logan, the FBI agent coincidentally assigned to her case, her world shifts. The two embark on a dangerous relationship built on Lanaβs secrets.
Sidetracked (Mindf*ck Series #2)
When another serial killer targets Logan and Lana, Lanaβs murdery plans become more complicated. Her lies compound when one of Loganβs team finds dirt on Lanaβs past.
Scarlet Angel (Mindf*ck Series #3)
Lana is in the hands of a psycho and her secrets are revealed when Hadley sees and hears everything. But when the two come together, everyone is on edge.
All the Lies (Mindf*ck Series #4)
Logan and his team are ready to uncover the truths about the Scarlet Slayer but Lana is determined to paint the town red with the blood of the guilty before they can stop her.
Paint It All Red (Mindf*ck Series #5)
Everything comes to a head when Lanaβs plans clash with those of Loganβs team.
TheReview
Logan and Lana move into their relationship fairly quickly right in the beginning, but it feels very natural and it works for them. They have good chemistry and great banter (the banter was my fav!). Their relationship wasnβt anything crazy special but it worked for them and I loved it.
Most of the first book is them trying to find time together while Logan works and Lana βworks.β
Side note - one of Loganβs coworkers is his ex and she if petty AF.
Lana is so good at her kills because she planned them for so long that Logan just canβt get a read on the profile for the killer (which is Lana). He struggles with that a lot and Lana has complicated feelings about it because she likes him and doesnβt want him to suffer but she has to make her way through her list.
By book three, all the secrets are still in the dark, only being held onto by those that originally knew them. Once they piece together some of the motivations of the Scarlet Slayer, the team makes their way to the town where it all began. Of course itβs Lanaβs hometown.
By the time they get to Delaney, Lanaβs hometown, everyone is ready for the truth to come out. Even Lana. But first, she has to carry out her justice on those that wronged her all those years ago.
Book five is the most wild by far. Everything goes absolutely bananas but the ending was utter perfection.
Personally, I liked reading these as five separate books. Almost every single one ended on a cliff hanger but thatβs part of what made it so good! It was tragic and devastating but also cathartic and healing. I loved every single minute of reading these.

TriggerWarnings
I donβt normally put trigger warnings in my reviews because the author does it for me. But some of the scenes were really gnarly so everyone should be as informed as possible.
Lots of discussion about past sexual trauma. Itβs relatively detailed, especially towards the end of the series. However, it is fairly easy to skim the parts you donβt want to read.
Very detailed and frequent torture. Also skippable, if you so wish. Every single person tortured deserved to burn in hell, so I liked the torture scenes.
Book four is the most detailed surrounding Lanaβs r*pe and torture at the hands of her attackers.
