This sequel picks up right where the original left off. Brie goes off completely half-cocked to try to help the people and forget her hurt and betrayal. 

It’s a long time for the main characters to be separated, but hey, I’m just happy the main character wasn’t captured (like all the other books like this). 

Brie and her love interest are a sloooooow burrrrrrn and we are here. for. it. Also, the side characters are AMAZING. It’s giving found family, for sure. 

Definitely feeling like some questions weren’t answered but everything important was wrapped up. The whole book was just a nonstop thrill to read. I couldn’t stop reading because I just HAD TO KNOW how this was gonna get fixed, or how that was gonna work, or which way the story was going to pan out. 

God bless Lexi Ryan. This book (and the duet as a whole) were an absolute TREAT to read. But this one was even better than the first. My goodness. I have a book hangover and may not be reading for a few days while I ruminate on all these beloved characters.
