TheStory
Lina moves in next to Chief of Police, Nash Morgan.
Nash has recently suffered a traumatic event and is dealing with PTSD.
After an immediate attraction to one another, Lina becomes Nash’s light in the dark. Only Lina has commitment issues and isn’t sure she wants him.
But old enemies and new grudges will force them to come to terms with their feelings, whether they want to or not.
TheReview
This was a super sweet and gentle romance. Next door neighbors. Mutually beneficial agreement. Emotionally unavailable people finding comfort in each other. Damage meets damage and somehow results in healing.
I don’t really understand the instant attraction they had to one another given that they had known each other in the past. But the connection and understanding they had was sweet.
Also, no one ever mentions that Lina is Nash’s brother’s ex. That was a major missed opportunity for a depper storyline.
Nash is such a vulnerable little ANGEL! I thought it would be a big turn off for me but it was actually endearing. Lina was strong and independent and closed off but Nash was a sweet, broken man. He also seemed like a little goody goody in the last book but it worked for him in this book.
I wasn’t super excited for this book but I ended up enjoying it. It’s classic and a little quick but overall enjoyable. Not overly complicated. Not super interesting. But a sweet, simple story nonetheless. I’m still more excited for Lucian and Sloan’s book.
P.S. I’m pretty disappointed that the Bonus Epilogue ruined some of Lucien and Sloan’s story for me.
