Men of Inked: Heatwave #3

By Chelle Bliss

Reading Order Timeline for the three Men of Inked Series:

  1. Men of Inked (original)

  2. Men of Inked: Southside (Chicago)

  3. Men of Inked: Heatwave (the second generation)

*Not a standalone - technically a duet with Ignite (Men of Inked: Heatwave #5)*

TheStory

When wild child Tamara Gallo sets off to find an “epic adventure,” she leaves a note for Pike and Gigi telling them that she is meeting up with her friend Crow at the Disciples MC compound. Upon arriving, Crow turns her away - being a huge butt munch about it too. Tamara accidentally meets Mammoth, a gorgeous member of the Disciples MC.

During a surprise lockdown of the compound, Mammoth is tasked with protecting Tamara. Sparks fly and mammoth decides that he will continue her protection detail until she gets home. Now Mammoth finds himself drawn to Tamara and a potential future. They know what they want and they are determined to make it work. But Mammoth has a past and Tamara knows nothing about it.

TheReview

Now, let’s dive right in. Personally, I find Tamara to be SO ANNOYING! I’ve said this in the last two books of this series as well, but my god. Tamara and Gigi are morons. In this book, Tamara is so naive. How big bad bike Mammoth would find that charming, but it’s not my love story so I digress. And, she does grow on me as the book continues.

The very beginning is a little forced and it drags a bit. Tamara is being hoey (no judgement, just an observation) and Mammoth is being “the good guy” … or trying to, at least. It’s forced proximity vibes but it just comes slightly out of nowhere. But an author’s got to move a story along, so whatever.

Now, on to the goooooood stuff.

We. Love. Mammoth. Say it with me. Once he brings Tamara home, all hell breaks loose. And it is hilarious. James losing his every loving mind over his past with Mammoth had me rolling on the floor laughing.

These books rarely ever shock the ever loving hell out of me but oh my gosh. I was thoroughly surprised.

About halfway through the book I was thrown another complete twisteroo and it was also soooo good. Mammoth’s secret past is revealed and it is a doozy. Tamara takes it all like champ.

Everything about the last half of this book was hilarious. I loved every stinking minute of it. Given that the beginning seemed super weird and a little slow to me, the last half makes up for everything BEYOND. It goes right into my top books in the Men of Inked world just for the last half.
