TheStory

Austin and Sage meet at a bar, where they realize that they are both in the Navy. After a passionate kiss, their feelings for each other spark. Throughout their years of service, they are often separated but their reconnections are bright lights and burning flames every time.

A tragedy forces Austin and Sage to face their feelings for each other but the decision is up to them - so they truly want to be together or should they do their separate ways?

Finally, we have a thought out character intro once again. The MCs' little meet cute is fairly natural and fun, especially in comparison to the last two books. Since they are both in the military, they understand each other well.

Whyyyyyyy are the plethora of nicknames so freaking cringy?! Han Salo, Dynasty, G.I. Jane… BLECH! But they’re so cute together, I chose to ignore each and every one of them. Just glided right over them.

There isn’t a whole lot to say other than that it was a good story. The MCs vibe together and it was a good military romance. More romance than military but there is still a little smattering. No spice whatsoever, which is what makes it more “cute” than “steamy.”

This is the last book in the Men of Inked: Heatwave series. Not the most closure-y book to end such a long series but it does close it out. The series overall was fantastic.

My recommendation: read each of the three series in order (see top of page). However, that is a 26 book commitment (as of the writing of this review). So if you don’t want to do all that work, almost all the books can be read as standalones, even though they are interconnected. You could pick and chose the ones that sound the best to you.
