TheStory
On the heels of a kidney transplant for lupus, Caroline makes a list of 10 New Year’s resolutions to complete this year. After getting trapped in a cabin with Austin, one of the town’s firefighters, she reveals the list to him. He begs to help her complete it and she agrees to let him - starting with her first kiss.
With a major age gap, Caroline has a lot to learn about life and Austin is more than willing to show her the ropes.
TheReview
Oh, holy cow. I liked the first book but I LOVED this one. Every part was amazing and I am obsessed with Austin and Caroline. Austin is giving DADDY vibes and Carolyn like to be “taught” and told what to do. Here for it.
I’m not normally a huge fan of a waif-esque, overly innocent FMC, but I immediately loved Caroline. She is funny and quirky but not in a way where it made it seem like the author was trying too hard. Plus, she is still independent and her own woman, she’s just naive.
Now, let me list the scenes where I was literally crying from laughing so hard, so you know what you can also enjoy, if you decide to read it.
The pajama incident the night of the fire - laughing my freaking head off.
The adult musical hairs savagery - dead.
The dinner scene at the cabin - cramped up laughing.
Maggie Gates seriously knows how to write hilarity.
This book was so full of love, adoration, and laughs. The MCs were sweet baby angels all the way through. Of course, there is the third act drama bomb. Always fun. It also gives a deeper look into Shane and Beth, which will be the MCs in the next book. I absolutely loved reading this. I finished it in under 24 hours.
