I am always so suspicious when things start off too good in a book. I was actually wondering if someone was manipulating emotions because everything just seemed way too hunky dory.

Alas, I was wrong about the manipulation of emotions but not about things being too good to be true. Of course, where would the book be without the drama unfolding and everything falling apart?

Even though Juliette was in a better place emotionally at the start of this book, she was still deeply affected by her past as well as who/what she is. She fell so deep into her own grief and anger, Kenji was the one that needed to remind her of the point of all of this.

Every single part of this story took such a drastic twist that was nearly completely opposite of how I thought things would go. I was constantly surprised. Which made the whole read soooooo good. Personally, I thought this one was even better than the first one, and I loved the bajesus out of that one.

There is so much more relationship development, insight into the bigger picture, and growth from Juliette, and even Adam. The side characters that came into play during the last part of book one are still going so strong in this one. The development of the characters and the storyline is absolutely riveting.

And the ending?! Gah! The ending. Just. fire. Shock after shock after shock. It doesn’t end on a cliff hanger per se, but I NEED to know what happens next!
