On the heels of their escape from The Reestablishment, Juliette and friends wind up on base at The Sanctuary, with a group of rebels very well put together and run by Castle’s daughter.

Even with their newfound home base, threats surround the group of rebels and it will take everything they have to weather the storm and emerge victorious. When Emmaline infiltrates Ella’s mind in an attempt to die herself, decisions must be made to move forward with taking down The Reestablishment.

A phenomenal ending to a mind bending series. In every book, there has been a capture and an imprisonment, so this ending was highly anticipated (at least by me).

Everything goes to utter crap once again, right in the beginning. Our poor MCs just can’t catch a break! They get absolutely no reprieves from the mayhem, chaos, and general horrendousness that is their current world.

As for where our characters stand when this book starts…

Warner is absolutely insufferable butt munch to everyone. Even I thought so… and I’m in love with him. So that’s saying something. Our poor sweet baby angel Kenji is so hopeless. He has such a hard time believing in anything good after suffering so much bad. And Juliette?! Honestly, how that woman hasn’t gone utterly insane is beyond me. She suffers at every. freaking. turn.

As for The Reestablishment, this book gave a much deeper insight into them than the previous ones did. Like we got a much clearer image of the bigger picture. We saw the issues that they face, the struggles they go through in trying to keep an entire planet under control via lies and misinformation. We also saw the extent of their power and the lengths that they were willing to go through in order to maintain that power.

This book culminated in a grand attempt by our characters to finish what was started in book one. Obviously, there have been many trials throughout the series, but this one finished what book one started. And it did so beautifully. While the ending was short and swift, we got to see some of what happens in the aftermath of everything. And it was glorious.

People seriously need to have their heads chopped off! CHOP EM CLEAN OFF! Otherwise, how will you know WHETHER OR NOT THEY ARE DEAD?! Get it together!
