Now… here is where it gets even better. Even deeper.

Juliette has a clear purpose in this book. She’s not the scared little girl that she was in th previous books. She’s just so grown up.

*sniff sniff*

No spoilers but… ADAM?! I cannot believe him. I knew he wasn’t the person we thought he was but… Excuse me?! Get it together, man. WARNER?! Just wow. KENJI?! Okay, nothing spoiler-y but I am just in love with that man.

It’s so hard to discuss this book without spoilers, but essentially the whole prose shifted in this one. Now we’re getting into the true, deep, life altering character development that will shape and shift the whole story going forward. Each piece of the storyline was so thoughtfully put together - it just worked and flowed beautifully.

The second half of the book had character development beyond anything that I could have ever imagined. Everyone truly felt like real people trying to figure out themselves and where they fit in the world. The focus on power and self-identity really made this book something extraordinary. It’s the central theme while still entwining romance.

The conclusion - perfection. I don’t need a big, long, drawn out battle. This one was exciting and thrilling while remaining concise and to the point, capturing the importance of the moment chef’s kiss wonderfully.

Once again, this series continues to get better with every book.
