TheStory
Ten years ago, Rebel and Rocco were in a car accident that ended in the tragic loss of one of their friends. After witnessing their friend take her last breath, Rocco was left traumatized and ultimately feeling powerless to help those around him. Because of these feelings, Rocco decided that loving is not worth losing and vows to never love another.
Despite Rocco’s intentions, ten years later, Rocco runs into Rebel again. Only now, Rebel and her young daughter are on the run. Rocco takes them in and helps them, but it’s Rebel who helps Rocco change his outlook on life.
TheReview
I don’t have a whole lot to review about this book but here are my main points.
The first two-thirds of the book is all about the love developing between Rocco and Rebel. It’s about their journey to find happiness and safety and grow in their lives. It was beautiful and sweet but predictable.
The drama takes quite a while to unfold but since the reuniting and the loving is so dang adorable, I could live with the slow pace.
Now, I liked both of these characters, but there was just a little oomph missing in them for me. More so Rebel than Rocco. It just could have been so much deeper.
I’m also not normally into single mom romances but this one worked really well.
Overall, it was a sweet book and a good love story. It just wasn’t anything super special. More just sweet and romantic than anything.
